Healesville Art Exhibition – June 2018

Come and enjoy the art work on exhibition by members of the Society.

There is a great variety of paintings in  oils, pastels, watercolour and other mediums on display – at very reasonable prices.

Visitors will have an opportunity to vote for the Peoples’ Choice Award.

Venue – Darron Honey Centre , at rear of Uniting Church, Maroondah Highway, Healesville.

July 2018 Meeting

Demonstration – This month, Julian Bruere will demonstrate some further watercolour techniques.

 Julian has been highly commended for his watercolour skills, subject matter and generosity as a teacher. He is very passionate about watercolour and his enthusiasm is infectious. He believes that painting water in watercolour requires a different application of painting skills and involves new learning for all of us.

Julian paints his subjects in watercolour with a strong drawing basis. Landscape, City Scenes, Marine and Maritime are his preferred subjects, but he also values the disciplines of Still Life and Portraiture.

This promises to be another interesting demonstration for both beginners and more experienced artists.

Demonstration – The demonstrator this month will be Malcolm Calder, a botanical artist who will work with watercolour techniques.

Malcolm is a local artist resident in the Yarra Valley and is associated with The Steels Creek Open Studio, a combined group from Steels Creek and the Yarra Glen Living and Learning Centre.

Among other things, Malcolm is one of the founders of the Yarra Glen Arts Show, one of the major community-based art event run every second year. 

The Yarra Glen Arts Show promotes the Yarra Valley and the attractions of Yarra Glen as a friendly and accessible place to visit with an enriched and diverse cultural lifestyle.

With a focus on botanical art, this promises to be another interesting demonstration for both beginners and more experienced artists.
